Visit of Sh. Trivendra Singh Rawat (Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand)
03rd August 2019 was a great and memorable day for Eklavya Vidyalaya, Kalsi. It was the 10th foundation Day of the vidyalaya and a programme was organised. The vidyalaya was highly privileged and honoured to welcome Sh. Trivendra Singh Rawat (Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand) as the chief guest for the programme. He was accompanied with other dignitaries such as Sh. Yashpal Arya (Hon’ble Minister Transportation, Social Welfare and Minority Welfare, Govt. of Uttarakhand), Sh. Munna Singh Chuahan(Hon’ble MLA, Vikasnagar Legislative Constituency). Other dignitaries from Dept. of Social Welfare, Uttarakhand added charm to the programme with their gracious presence. Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand visited the academic block of the vidyalaya and inspected the different amenities being provided to the students for their academic excellence and was highly impressed. He was also made aware about the schedule of the vidyalaya along with the progress and achievements of the vidyalaya so far. He appreciated the constant efforts being put in by the Principal Dr. G.C. Badoni, all the teachers and other staff for the betterment of the tribal students of Uttarakhand. On this occasion Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand and Hon’ble Minister Transportation, Social Welfare and Minority Welfare, Govt. of Uttarakhand, planted a sapling each in the vidyalaya’s birthday garden. A cultural programme was also organised on this occasion by the students of Eklavya Vidyalaya, Kalsi, which included a welcome song, a bhajan, Jaunsari folk dance, a group song and a demonstration of different yogic postures. In his speech Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand appreciated the vidyalaya’s performance in academics, sports and co-curricular activities and honoured the Principal Dr. G.C. Badoni for the same. Hon’ble Chief Minister, Uttarakhand made different announcements for upgrading the amenities of the vidyalaya so that the students could be highly benefitted from it.

Eklavyans visit Rashtrapati Bhawan
Friday, 09th August, 2019 was a special and memorable day for Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kalsi, Dehradun as the vidyalaya’s choir got a chance to represent the vidyalaya in the Rashtrapati Bhawan at New Delhi on the invitation of Ministry of Tribal Affairs, Govt. of India. The occasion was the celebration of 77 years of National Independence Movement, and it was an opportunity to honour the freedom fighters whose continuous efforts and endeavour led us to this air of invigorating freedom.
The school choir consisted of the same members who made the vidyalaya won the winner’s trophy along with a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh at the ‘1st National EMRS Music competition – 2019’, held at Tata Nagar, Jamshedhpur, Jharkhand.
It was a ‘next level’ experience for the students of the vidyalaya to be visiting the Rashtrapati Bhawan and giving a successful presentation of the patriotic song and thus making the patriotic spirit alive and even more stronger in everyone present there. The students got a chance to interact with the Hon’ble President of India where he found the students intelligent and agile and thus spoke of them as ‘Smart Children’. Narendra Modi, Hon’ble Prime Minister of India, Amit Shah, Hon’ble Cabinet Minister, Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt. of India, Manmohan Singh, Former Prime Minister, India were some of the other dignitaries present during the programme.
The team consisted of 16 students of the vidylaya( some of them playing different musical instruments) accompanied with the Team Manager & Liaison Officer Ms. Sudha Painuli (Vice-Principal) and Escort teachers Mr. Sarju Kumar (TGT – Music), Ms. Amita Rawat, Mr. Ravindranath Goswami.
'Rashtriya Poshan Maah'
On 30th of September Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya celebrated 'Valedictory Ceremony' under the programme 'Poshan Maah'. In this month we organised different types of activities: Poster, Slogan, Quiz based on Nutritious Food, Rally for public awareness and Food Plaza. Common theme of all activities was based on 'Nutritious Food' and 'Health & Hygiene'.
During the month many eminent visitors visited the Vidyalaya: Mr. S.C. Joshi, The Additional Secretary, Govt. of U.K., Director Department of Tribal Welfare, U.K.,
Dr. Rajiv Kumar Dixit, Incharge of Health & Hygiene, Block Kalsi, Dr. Ajeet Gairola with Dr. Vasundhara. They all made aware students regarding 'Fit & Healthy life', Importance of 'Nutritious Food' and 'Value of Games' etc.
Those eminent Doctors fed student's hungry mind with valuable information. During the session students asked various types of questions.
Dr. Ajeet Gairola inspired students in such a positive way. He said that we should not ignore our local food which contains enough nutrition.
On 30th of September the Vidyalaya organised valedictory ceremony in which we invited as Chief Guest Dr. J.S. Kochher, Economic Adviser of National Tribal Welfare. The Vidyalaya organised 'Food Plaza' in which every house made different types of delicious nutritious food. In the same day school organised quiz competition in which winner house was Milam and Pindari.
Mr. J.S. Kochher sensitised the Vidyalaya. He appreciated each and every kind of activity. He praised School's discipline and sanitation.
During the Valedictory programme Principal of the Vidyalaya Dr.G.C. Badoni informed the chief guest regarding the achievements of the school. He made aware that school has conducted during this month different types of activities which were fruitful not only for Vidyaya but locality also.
He suggested students about the essentiality of Senitation & Hygiene, role of discipline in student's life, importance of daily based activities of Residential Setup.
Vice Principal of the Vidyalaya also had a speech as 'Vote of Thanks', she sensitised students in such a delicate way regarding how to stay fit and healthy. She informed girls students regarding their daily life challenges and how to deal it.
9th Annual Day-2019
Eklavya Vidyalaya Celebrated its 9th Annual Day with great zeal and enthusiasm on 11th May 2019. The Chief Guest of the Programme Sh. B.R. Tamta, Additional Secretary & Director Tribal Welfare. Govt. of Uttarakhand, graced the occasion along with Guest of Honour Sh. M.C. Pant, Finance Officer, Dept. of Tribal Welfare, Uttarakhand, Sh. D.C. Arya, D.F.O. Kalsi, Dehradun & Dr. Ajit Gairola, Ex-Director, Dept. of Health, Uttarakhand. The gathering of the parents and alumni added charm to the programme. The first session of the programme involved honouring the achievements of students by giving away them the prizes. The second session involved the mesmerizing cultural programme which included the Welcome Song, A group Song, Marathi Folk Dance, Mime, English & Hindi Play and the Signature Dance of the vidyalaya on Sh. Bhupen Hazarika Ji’s song ‘O Ganga behti ho kyu’…… All the guests blessed the appreciated the efforts of the students and blessed them all with their immensely worthy words.The programme was hugely successful…..
Winner of first EMRS National Music Competition
“Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything”, said Plato. Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kalsi was rejuvenated with life full of joy with a winner’s trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 2 lakh , for First Inter EMRS National Music Competition – 2018. The competition was held at Tata Nagar, Jamshedhpur, Jharkhand on 30th October 2018, where all the selected EMRSs from their respective zones came after defeating their competent to win the competition. The vidyalaya also became a proud host for the Regional EMRS Music Competition held on 10th October for Uttarakhand region where a total of five schools participated including EMRS Bahraich, U.P., EMRS Sona Kheri, U.P. and EMRS, Himachal Pradesh.
First EMRS National Sports Meet
ADan Gable, the famous American free-style wrestler and coach says, “Gold medals aren’t really made of gold. They’re made of sweat, determination, and a hard-to-find alloy called guts”. So, the Eklavyans have perspired, determined to excel and with guts to overcome all the challenges made way towards success. A contingent of Eklavya Vidyalaya, Kalsi consisting of 81 members participated in the first EMRS National Sports Meet held at Hyderabad from 13th January to 15th January 2019, under the supervision of Ms. Sudha Painuli(Vice-Principal) and Mr. B.S. Negi(PGT Physical Education) who were also the Nodal Officers. The students of the vidyalaya performed exceedingly well there and bagged a total of 10 medals in different events under different categories including 02 Gold Medals, 05 Silver Medals and 03 Bronze Medals. ‘Kunga Neema’ was declared the best athlete among the participants of 15 states.

With dreams of a bright future and a will to achieve their goals, these children joined Eklavya at a very young age. With sheer determination and hard work of the students and teachers, today they have made their dreams a reality. The pass out students of the Eklavya vidyalaya have made the whole school proud by getting admissions into the reputed institutions of their choice and are on the verge of becoming what they wanted to be. We are very confident that they will not only become good professionals but also good citizens and will take the nation to the new height of success. Two alumni have already started their career in Indian Army and Merchant Navy respectively. Here is a list of the achievers......
