Visit of Hon'ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. Of India at Eklavya

This Thursday, i.e. 04/05/2017 was a memorable day in the history of Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kalsi and of course a remarkable one as Jual Oram (Hon’ble Minister of Tribal Affairs, Govt. Of India) along with Anusuiya Uikey ( Hon’ble Vice Chairperson, Tribal Welfare Commission, Govt. Of India), N.S. Napalchyal (Chairman, Uttarakhand Commission for Scheduled Tribe) and other dignitaries from Central and State Government visited the vidyalaya. They assessed the performance of the vidyalaya in different spheres and appreciated it. They were also informed about the daily routine, activities and the achievements of the vidyalaya since its inception. A small programme was organised on this occasion. The school choir performed a welcome song and played the tone of internationally renowned folk song ‘Bedu Pako’ on flute, harmonium, keyboard and congo. A Jaunsari Tribal folk dance was also perfomed by the students. Students also demonstrated different yogic postures which were not merely a demonstration of different postures of Yoga, but their perseverance, determination, sincerity and hard work.
The Hon’ble Minister appreciated the performance of the students and motivated them to perform better in every sphere. On this occasion The Hon’ble minister and Madam Anusuiya Uikey planted a tree in vidyalaya’s b’day garden.


Participation of Eklavyans in District Athletics Meet at RIMC, Dehradun

40 students of Eklavya Adarsh Awasiya Vidyalaya, Kalsi took part in the District Athletics Meet held on 4th Nov and 5th Nov at RIMC, Dehradun in U-14, U-16, U-18 and open category of boys and girls section in various sports including 100 m, 4X100 m, 600 m, 800 m race, long jump, shot put, javelin throw and discus throw. They performed their best and gave a tough competition to all other contestants. Mohit and Kunga Neema of Eklavya Vidyalaya won a gold medal in U-14 category in shot put and a bronze medal in U-16 category in discus throw. respectively. All the participants showed the true sportsman spirit and thus the vidyalaya succeeded in winning the 'fair play' trophy too.

Visit of Participants of IDEPA from NUEPA at Eklavya

A team of 30 members from National University of Educational Planning and Administration visited Eklavya Vidyalaya, Kalsi on 24th of March 2017 under the guidance  of Dr. B.K. Panda (NUEPA New Delhi), Dr. Mona Sedhwal (NUEPA New Delhi). The team had trainees of International Diploma in Educational Planning and Administration from 18 different countries. They explored the infrastructure, daily schedule and achievements of the vidyalaya and appreciated it. Dr. Panda informed that in his visit to the Vidyalaya in August 2016 along with other members of NUEPA, he saw the innovative measures taken by the vidyalaya to bring all round development of the students such as 'Theatre in Education', the concept of 'B'day Garden' to join students with nature and maintenance of 'Museum' so as to preserve the cultural heritage, and was greatly impressed by it. He said that he has put forward these initiatives of the Vidyalaya as an example before different trainees at NUEPA. The team interacted with the students and also enjoyed the folk songs prepared by the students. They also planted a tree in vidyalaya's b'day garden. They all seemed excited and said that it was of great use to them to visit the vidyalaya.

Legal Awareness Programme at Eklavya

A legal awareness programme was organized by District Legal Service Authority, Dehradun at Eklavya Vidyalaya, Kalsi on 19th of March 2017. Mr. N.S. Dhanik, Hon'ble District Judge, Dehradun was the chief guest at the function. A team of six judges along with Mr. Kuldeep Sharma, Secretary, District Legal Service Authority, visited the school and made students and other people present at the programme aware about different topics such as General laws, Juvenile Justice Act, POCSO, Family court, etc. A street play was also organized by State Tobacco Control Cell, the theme being ill effects of tobacco. A medical-check up camp was also a part of the programme. Other people along with the students of the Vidyalaya were highly benefitted.
